I Have An Unreasonable Love of Cactuses and Ahsoka Tano

Updated: Dec 22, 2022

And other important things to know about me.

Hello, reader! My name is Gillian Annie, in case you didn’t know. I’m gonna talk a little about myself! The topic of myself is always confusing to me. Who am I? Well, I think I’m a lot of things to a lot of different people. I’m a teacher, a sister, a daughter, a dog-mom, a former Army person, a kind-of writer, a student…the list goes on. What Do I Do For A Living?

This question is also difficult to answer. I am a medically retired Army first lieutenant, which is my main source of income. I usually tell people I retired because of a knee injury, but the majority of my disability paycheck comes from my mental health. I currently work as a special education assistant at an elementary school in my home town.

Who Do I Want To Be?

My main goal in life is to be happy. To accomplish this, I’m hoping continuing my studies in Russian and becoming a Russian professor or else a super-cool government agent will do the trick. I also want to be a permanent dog-mom because let’s face it, they are the best animals on this Earth.

My Likes

  • My family (which includes all fur babies, especially my doggie Reese ❤)

  • Coffee

  • Tea

  • Ahsoka Tano

  • Playing video games

  • Studio Ghibli (thank the Gods for Princess Mononoke)

  • Anime

  • CACTUSES (or cacti?)

My Accomplishments

I saved this for last because…well because I feel like I’ve accomplished very little 😅 But my mom is very proud of me, so I figured I’d give this a shot too! I am pleased to say that I am a West Point graduate. For those of you who don’t know, that’s the United States Military Academy. For two years I was brainwashed to believe this was not an accomplishment by my ex, so it’s kind of weird for me to say those words. I am also fluent in Russian, which I think is pretty darn cool. I have successfully raised the world’s most amazing puppy, aka my dog Reese. I got accepted to Duke’s graduate program 😮. I’m alive ❤
